What you'll discover

The 10 plagues of Egypt … in the Louvre !

(Language of the tour : English)

Ref : Tour at the Louvre TL02 (English).

The Ten Plagues of Egypt are more than a biblical account—they tell the story of a powerful confrontation between the God of the Bible and the gods of ancient Egypt.

From the Nile turning to blood to the final devastating plague, each event challenges the supremacy of deities such as Thoth, Horus, Isis, Amun-Ra or Hathor to name but a few … What do these plagues reveal about them — and about the God who opposed them?

Through their sequence and impact, the plagues unveil a deeper message about divine power and the human condition.

As you walk through the Egyptian Antiquities collection in the Sully Wing, the story comes to life. Guided by carefully selected artworks and a structured narrative, you are invited to see these events from a fresh and thought-provoking perspective.
